Why did you choose NYITCOM? I chose NYITCOM because it offered the supportive, collaborative, and hands-on medical education I was seeking. As a former NYIT undergrad student, I already felt connected to the community, and conversations with current students strengthened my admiration for its learning environment. What is special about NYITCOM? NYITCOM is special because it combines rigorous medical training with genuine community, collaboration, and early patient-centered experiences. Its small-group learning model helps students master complex concepts in a supportive setting, while its pre-comprehensive and comprehensive exams encourage long-term retention. In addition, I find that the student body is properly listened to through various feedback forms, and the administration is constantly seeking new ways to adapt to our preferred learning methods.
What are your future plans and goals? Although I am currently undecided, I have interests in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, and cardiology. I would love to stay in the Northeast region and serve to enhance the quality of life for individuals from all backgrounds.

Why did you choose NYITCOM? I have had the privilege of knowing many NYITCOM graduates and watching them become compassionate, dedicated physicians. I was inspired by their work ethic, close-knit campus community, and commitment to serving underserved local populations. During my undergraduate years at Georgetown University, I also conducted health policy and advocacy work with Dr. Leheste and observed the welcoming, thoughtful environment he fostered among his students. Those experiences solidified my desire to return to New York and attend NYITCOM.
What is special about NYITCOM? I have truly valued the opportunities during our first two years to develop clinical skills in Doctor-Patient Relations lab. We have practiced essential skills for rotations, including airway management, intramuscular injections, and comprehensive pediatric exams. I also appreciate NYITCOM’s strong commitment to osteopathic principles and holistic patient care. Many of these events are also student-led, giving us meaningful peer-peer experiences, while also encouraging our student body to endeavor leadership roles.
What are your future plans and goals? I am excited to pursue both a career in academic medicine and in geriatric psychiatry. One of my most impactful experiences in healthcare was volunteering at my local hospital’s nursing and rehabilitation center, where I interacted with patients with various degrees of neurocognitive disorders.
