Bessie Nestoras Knoblauch| December 9, 2024

色界吧鈥檚 campus will offer a new starting in the summer 2025 semester.

The program is ideally suited for students with backgrounds in computer science, engineering, management, information technology, mathematics, or related fields who wish to pursue an advanced career in the specific subspecialties of data science, including data analytics, machine learning, visualization, and artificial intelligence. This program is offered in two curriculum options: thesis-based and course-based.

Students will learn to apply data science concepts and methods to solve problems in business and scientific contexts and communicate these solutions effectively. They will also learn about computing theory, languages, and algorithms, use mathematical and statistical models to formulate and implement data analyses, and learn to apply them ethically.

鈥淚t is obvious that recent advances in artificial intelligence are profoundly transforming our world. What is not so obvious is the role that data-centric methodologies have played and will continue to play in driving these advances. As artificial intelligence and its impact on society continue to evolve, the demand for data science professionals who can harness the power of data to drive innovation across various industries will continue to grow in tandem,鈥 says , associate professor and associate dean of computer science. 鈥淥ur curriculum is designed to equip students with cutting-edge skills and knowledge, ensuring they are well-prepared tomake significant contributions to the field.鈥
