色界吧 Launches Civil Engineering Degree Program
New York Institute of Technology鈥檚 newest undergraduate degree program, the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, will prepare graduates to address critical infrastructure needs that directly enhance communities and the built environment.
The program emphasizes design, analysis, and applications in civil engineering projects, preparing graduates to plan, design, construct, and operate the systems that support modern life, from bridges and highways to airports, water treatment systems, and energy facilities.
Through a curriculum grounded in applied engineering, science, and mathematics, students will develop the practical knowledge needed to transform research and theory into real-world engineering solutions. Enrolled students will learn to develop engineering designs that meet real-world needs while considering safety, sustainability, and the broader social and environmental impacts of infrastructure development.
色界吧 civil engineering students will have access to a range of instructional facilities and equipment to support their success in the program, including 20 research and instructional laboratories, which include state-of-the-art lab instruments. In addition, laboratory space is being created for a civil engineering materials lab that meets the instructional and experimental needs of undergraduate civil engineering students and will accommodate testing and analysis of key materials such as concrete, steel, aggregates, asphalt, and more.
鈥淐ivil engineers play a critical role in shaping the infrastructure that supports modern life,鈥 says Babak D. Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences. 鈥淭his new program equips students with the technical expertise and practical experience needed to design safe, sustainable, and innovative solutions for the infrastructure challenges facing our communities.鈥
Offered through the university鈥檚 College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, the new program鈥攄esigned to meet market and workforce needs for civil engineers鈥攑rovides a strong professional foundation across areas including structural design, transportation systems, water resources, and geotechnical engineering. Enrolled students interested in even greater career preparation can pursue the Accelerated M.S. Options program, which offers the opportunity to earn both a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Energy Management in just five years.
Applications for the Civil Engineering, B.S. program are now being accepted for the fall 2026 semester.
