Andreas Theodoridis

School of Architecture and Design

Andreas Theodoridis, Ph.D., assistant professor in the architecture department, organized the that was was held December 1 to 3, 2023, at the Center of Mediterranean Architecture (CAM) location in Greece. Theodoridis organized it on behalf of the CAM Advisory Board. He also moderated and participated in sessions with various professionals, including architects, public servants, legislators, hoteliers, and policymakers, who are related to the country's tourism and architecture industries.

Claude Gagna

CAS/Biological and Chemical Sciences

Claude E. Gagna, Ph.D., professor of biological and chemical sciences, was awarded an Emerging Technology Innovation Award from 色界吧鈥檚 emerging technology group for Molecular Devices GenePix 4000B Fluorescent Two-Color DNA Microarray scanner. The instrument will be used for the development of next-generation DNA and RNA microarrays with NYIT students.

Student Engagement and Development

On November 20, 2023, Felipe Henao, Ed.D., dean of students, published an article titled for the . It has now been published online as a stand-alone chapter in the prestigious Reference Collection in 鈥淩eference Module in Earth Systems and Environmental Sciences.鈥

Shaya Sheikh, Ph.D., associate professor of quantitative and analytics, presented an article entitled in Decision Science Institute Annual Meeting in Atlanta on November 19, 2023.

Dong-Sei Kim

School of Architecture and Design

Dongsei Kim, M.Des., assistant professor of architecture, presented his recent publication "Drawing Hwa-Chaeng: Mapping Contested Territories for Imagination" at the on November 17, 2023. He then joined a conversation moderated by curator Jean Im with Dongwoo Yim (PRAUD/Hongik University), who presented his "Accessories" publication within the Tiki-Taka Collective.

Cameka Hazel, Ed.D., assistant professor in the psychology and counseling department, recently published a research article entitled in the Journal of Counselor Preparation and Supervision on November 17, 2023.

Amerigo Rossi

Interdisciplinary Health Studies

Amerigo Rossi, Ed.D., associate professor of interdisciplinary health sciences, and Lillian Butungi Niwagaba, Ph.D., assistant professor and director of the Center for Global Health, mentored 色界吧 students in publishing an abstract, "," in The International Journal of Exercise Science Conference Proceedings, on February 1, 2023. The students traveled to NYU Langone Health鈥檚 academic medical center in New York, N.Y., on November 11 to present their scholarly research at the Greater New York Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine鈥檚 2023 Annual Fall Meeting. This research won the President's Cup Award at the conference.

Monika Rohde

Office of Student Engagement and Development

Staff from both Undergraduate Student Success and Advising as well as Student Engagement and Development represented 色界吧 at the (Long Island Council of Student Personnel Administrators), held on November 9. Madeline Leonard, assistant director of academic success and enrichment, served as conference chair and led the organization of the entire event. Nicole Sheehan, director of academic advising, received the Individual Excellence Award. Joanne West, director of student engagement and development admin and operations, received the LICSPA Founders Award. Stephanie Wolcott, senior academic advisor, presented a session titled "Igniting Creativity: Unlock ChatGPT's Potential in Brainstorming." Tyler Wheelock, senior academic advisor, presented a session titled "Advising Across Borders: Fostering Success for International Students through Campus Collaboration." Tiffani Hinds, Ed.D., associate provost for student engagement and development, served on a panel discussion featuring vice presidents of student affairs.
