College of Arts and SciencesAmanda Golden, Ph.D., associate professor of English in the Department of Humanities, gave an invited lecture on on December 12, 2024, at the Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies in Amherst, Mass. The event featured Golden and Karen V. Kukil, with whom she is co-editing a new edition of The Poems of Sylvia Plath (Faber & Faber, 2026).
Maryam Ravan
Maryam Ravan, Ph.D., associate professor of electrical and computer engineering, in collaboration with several 色界吧 doctoral students, has published an article, ",鈥� in Progress In Electromagnetics Research C, a peer-reviewed publication, on December 11, 2024. The paper introduces an artificial intelligence (AI) methodology designed to enhance the output of two-dimensional electromagnetic imaging systems.
Kate E. O'Hara
CAS/Humanities/ Interdisciplinary StudiesKate E. O鈥橦ara, Ph.D., associate professor of interdisciplinary studies, was the recipient of the Juror鈥檚 Award Honorable Mention for her photograph, exhibited at the PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, December 6 to 27, 2024. O鈥橦ara鈥檚 photography and multimedia installations draw from her background in social science and arts-based research. O鈥橦ara describes her work as a phenomenological approach to understanding structures of experience and consciousness with an aim to capture the lived experience of her subjects.

Babak Beheshti, Ph.D., dean of the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences, also contributed by bringing supportive partners in DEI programming that serves the public good. Award winners were recognized at the annual World Engineering Education Forum (WEEF), taking place in Sydney, Australia, December 2鈥�5, 2024.
