If your desired hardware or software isn鈥檛 available, you may need to purchase it from a third-party vendor or manufacturer鈥攂e sure to ask about educational discounts, as you could save significantly.
Software Purchasing
Purchase New Software or Renewal of Existing Software Contracts (色界吧-funded)
ITS must approve all institutional software purchases at 色界吧, including purchases funded through sponsored research and/or grants. Be sure to carefully follow the steps below to avoid purchasing delays:
Step 1. Submit Your Request to ITSoftwareRequests@nyit.edu
- Have the vendor complete the SaaS Vendor Questionnaire for all web-based products; OR
- If the software is student-facing, have the vendor complete the .
- A must be completed if the vendor does not have a VPAT.
- Submit the completed vendor forms to ITSoftwareRequests@nyit.edu, if applicable
Step 2. Get Your Contract Reviewed and Approved
All contracts must be reviewed and approved by the General Counsel and ITContracts@nyit.edu
Step 3. Fulfill Purchasing Requirements
- Email the Purchasing Department if you are using a new vendor
- For purchases over $15,000, provide three bids or complete the
Step 4. Submit Your Order Through the Finance System
Attach the following documents to your request:
- ITS approval of the Completed SaaS questionnaire and/or VPAT
- Software quote(s)
- Proof of bids from three vendors (if required)
- Contract approval from the General Counsel and ITContracts@nyit.edu
- IT Software Requests approval
Step 5. Notify ITS to Install the Software after Procurement is Completed.
